Many superlatives have been used in other reviews of Hotel Eclat, Beijing, and still none do justice to the experience of staying there. I doubt I will have more to contribute to the conversation, but I am so grateful for my stay that I must add my voice. Words.
From the moment I was welcomed after midnight, to the moment I was seen into my taxi and farewelled, every aspect of the hotel was exceptional.
It is a joyous sensory experience, obviously the art, which is gobsmacking, the perfumed lobby, the delicious cocktails and food.
My room, the most basic they offer, was large with a huge comfortable bed, massage chair, desk, wifi, fabulous view of Ritan Park. The bathroom had a huge tub, rainfall shower, automatic toilet with a heated seat, delicious toiletries, and was impeccably clean.
The service from every single staff member was warm and professional.
On my first night I had a problem turning off my hall light, and called reception, who immediately sent up someone from house keeping. At 1.30 am a problem with the electrical switching couldn’t be fixed. This is high tech hotel, and these things happen.
The next morning at breakfast I was greeted by name by a manager who apologised for the inconvenience of the night before, and asked what would be a good time to send the engineer to fix the lighting.
Problems happen with businesses, but what makes the difference between alright and great is how those problems are resolved. This is a great place.
If none of this is enough, it’s still not even the best part.
The most delightful thing about the Hotel Eclat is the generosity of it.
From the complementary breakfast, to the complementary daily afternoon tea, happy hour cocktail, fruit platter, turndown snacks, water and juices, a tour of the hotel’s themed rooms and art – I didn’t have the capacity to absorb all of the delights.
And again, the service! Every member of staff genuinely made me feel like they were happy to help, no matter what my query.
