I ate some deep fried tofu in spicy sauce and steamed bread for lunch from some shacks outside the Humble Administrator’s garden, and then bought some jabotica fruits from a smiling woman who kept adding flourescent things to my box, even though I didn’t want them, and told her, in Chinese.
Then she weighed the box and threw in a fig, and tried to charge me 25 kuai! I just want the jaboticas. She took out the fig. 20 kuai. She took out the bright red things. 15 kuai, no more smiles, no eye contact.
Those yellow mystery fruits were tasty.
